Product information
The Ventus 2c, made by the Schempp-Hirth company, is a racing class sailplane, designed and manufactured in accordance with the latest research. The glider can be flown with a wingspan of 15 or 18 m. The movements of the ailerons and camber-changing flaps are 100% superimposed, making the machine highly manoeuvrable. Some of the models dimensions have been altered slightly from true scale, to ensure that the model has superb flying performance and handling. Just like the original machine, the model features ailerons and camber-changing flaps. If the full-span flaps are deployed correctly, the VENTUS 2c has an exceptionally broad speed range. The very highly pre-fabricated GRP fuselage, GRP rudder, and sandwich-construction wings and tailplane simplify construction of the model very greatly. The inboard wing panels feature a strong I-section wood/CFRP spar, into which the sleeve for the 18 mm round steel joiner rod is integrated. The wings and tailplane are supplied in the kit as ready-made items, i.e. leading edges are in place and sanded, airbrake boxes installed, servo wells machined, and sleeves for the 18 mm Ø round steel wing joiner factory-fitted. An optional retractable wheel and aero-tow coupling can also be installed. The fuselage features precision-cut holes, ensuring accurate wing location. Machined formers are supplied in the kit to accept the retract unit. The outboard wing panels are attached to the inboard panels by means of a 10 mm Ø round steel joiner and clamping screw.
