Semplicemente "stupendo".....

molto bene rifinito, senza l'accrocco delle puntine, con un notevole travaso..
@Dooling
Beautiful engine the Dooling 29! Amazingly good castings and machining for the period. The Dooling Brothers built other protoypes which I have seen in a Collector's magazine. Anyone else seen this magazine? I gave my copy away many years ago sadly. Thank you Dooling, it brought back many good memories. Not very powerful though, I think the .29 made about 0.6 BHP @ 18000 rpm?

Yes, I was thinking of two aluminium plates about 100mm square and 16mm thick with a 25mm steel bar passing through. The rear plate would have the Torque sensor ( Strain Guages ) and you could just attach it to a cheap Voltmeter plus 9 volt battery. Calibration would be by weights on the day of use. I can make two sets and send you one set gratis? You would then need to make a steel stand with a thick steel plate to bolt the plates on. Rough but simple without much to go wrong! I will draw something up for your comment. This will be the so called "propeller" style which is easier on the valuable engines than the Eddy Current type. You will need to try at least five propellers and then use a "Spline Curve Function" in a Spreadsheet to interpolate a power curve, but I can set that up using "Libre Office" and then send you a copy to play with.

Also I will find a photo of the internals of the HS-15 so you can see the differences between it and the Dodge engine.

If all goes well I will scan the three articles by David Guirke ( American ) on using a Dyno and post the link somewhere for others to download.

I have got a Norvel 15 Piston and Liner to look at. This is a Russian inovation that uses anodized aluminium fined/liner Teflon coated with a hard nickel plated aluminium piston. I was proposing to replace the piston with something made in bronze ( chrome plated ). Should be good for 45,000 rpm and around 2.75 BHP? I will overcome the weight penalty by using the FMV style piston with plenty of extra holes as well ( air weighs less than metal! ).

29C in Adelaide today with plenty of blue sky!
