props: 7x4 7x5 7x6 8x3 8x4 8x5 8x6 8x8 9x5 9x6 10x4
The smaller props need IPN to acieve their intended high rpm.
use tuned silencers: 3241, 3242
run with an exhaust muffler and throttle for whisper quit operation. The engine is available as Venturi engine (#3222) or as RC engine (#3022RC)
Fuel: 45% Ether, 35% Kerosene, 20% Castor Oil
0-2.5% IPN or equivalent may be added to the mix.
!!!! Use 30% oil for running in.!!!!
The addition of ignition improvers like IPN (Iso-propyl-nitrate) or Amyl-nitrate allows the engine to run at lower compression settings without loss in performance, and achieve higher rpm. Availability of these ignition enhancers may be quite difficult. Truck diesel engine fuel cetane boosters also have shown promising results. These are readily available at gas stations
For racing, IPN may replace part of the ether, or even all of it, and the oil content may be much lower by adding extra kerosene. Beware: The engine then runs much hotter, is harder to adjust, and MTBF is greatly reduced.
Be warned: Engines are easily fried this way.

chissà con che elica, forse con una 7x3 o 6x4...ma per le eliche piccole bisogna mettere l'additivo per iniezione che si usa nelle macchine.
anche l'olio castor se non sbaglio è quello non sintetico per le automobili, vero?
secondo me con una 10x3 se sviluppa .30 HP è già assai, spero in 13000 giri,
ossia la stessa velocità che un 5cc 4t fa girare quest'elica.
Putroppo se non sbaglio Macete mi diceva che il 4t con la 10x3 andava fuori giri, 13600 e oltre. I 2,5 glow con la 10x3 invece si surriscaldano parecchio.
Per questo comperai la Master Airscrew che era molto più scarica di una 10x3 APC, permettendo giri maggiori per i 2,5 anche se il passo della 10x3 è in effetti sui 2,5 quindi va meno in velocità, ma almeno i motori riescono ad arrivare ad un regime a cui cominciano a cantare...
Insomma se si usano i 4t meglio la 10x3 APC, se si usano i 2 tempi, meglio la Master.
