With this the concept was set and the really time consuming iteration in X-foil began to create a airfoil with lower drag than the Drela Airfoils, but thicker. The result was a wing with bigger area compared to the rest of the European designs and a airfoil with 7,5 % thickness.The new airfoil together with the wide chord do make the wing thick, this is a good base for strength, stiffness and at the same time there is room for wing mounted servos. High attention, during the design work of the airfoil, has been to get a design that avoids flutter (my note: on flaperrons)."
