I'm using 3 Li-Ion cells 18650GR 2000mAh from Sony in my Futaba FX-18 for about a year now. No problems. You can get these cells on ebay for about 2 bucks each. The cells are from defective laptop packs where mostly one or two cells are dead. I know they had some problems with their cells in the future.
I charge them through the build in plug of the Tx with a lipo charger.
For me the main advantages are that they last very long and you can recharge them whenever you want cause there's no memory effect.

Pare proprio che anche la FX-18 tolleri tranquillamente le tre LiPo.
