Mi giunge notizia, sarà Svezia sud

Hello,
very late we found a nation, which wants to organize the next WASG.

The Swedish ACES made a proposal in the south of Sweden. Until the decision
of the local club, we can only fix the week for this event. But we can
prepare our holiday planning. That is the reason for me, to publish the
Swedish proposal.
Let's support them and lets meet in Sweden 2012.
The location is good for such an event. Camping is possible and hotels are
near. It is very close to the Baltic Sea.
And it is good to reduce the WASG again into a big event for the pilots with
flying and discussing and less money making.
I was not happy with some parts of our WASG 2010.

From the 04.August until the 19.August 2012 we shall organize no normal EC
contest. The WASG is counting for EC, too.

All wishes to organize an ACES EC are to send to the 1. IC, he has to
confirm the contest. ( It is only to reduce of two or more EC at one
weekend.)

One EC Day is known today:
EC Germany north is at the 18.06.2012 in Rechlin Lärz

If you know your EC location and day, send it for confirmation to me.

Rainer
P.S. If one of your ACES HQ member is not in the mailing list, send his name
to me. ( To update my list.)

And I have some good news! ACES Sweden is interrested in arranging WASG
2012. The whole ACES HQ feel sad that there is no planned championship for
2012 so we are seriously considering arranging a WASG. No real decisions
have been made yet but our idea is to arrange it in week 32 (monday 6 August
- sunday 12 August). We have a dialogue with Ripa MFK and they are mostly
positive, and this weekend we will have a meeting with the Swedish Model
Flying Federation. Ripa MFK's board doesn't want to make a decision without
their members and they will have their annual meeting 21st November and
there they will make the decision if they want to be part of a WASG. It is a
little late for my taste but I understand their way of reasoning so I'm
afraid we'll have to wait for their decision before we can be 100% on the
location. The dialogue between ACES and the model flying federation has
gotten a lot better this last year and they know about our wish to arrange a
WASG so I am hopeful about recieving their support for such an event.

Our idea is pretty much to arrange a "normal" WASG without the
"Roding/Pösing aeroclub event" and instead focus on the competition and show
the rest of ACES nations that it is possible to arrange a championship in a
slightly simpler way. WASG 2012 is meant to consist of WW1 and WW2. Most
likely there will also be a separate final for 2.5ccm and we are considering
introducing the Swedish classic - Twin Heat Trophy which is a yearly event
for twin engine models only.

Regards
Fredrik Lanz, NC Sweden
