Originalmente inviato da cgraf Hi
Sorry to write in English but my Italian is not really that good...
A friend of mine and myself are interested in buying to kits from Cuccolo
Aeromodelli. The idea would be to build a multi-purpose glider (for the flying field and the slope) and putting a strong electric propulsion into it. We often fly at noon and have no towplane.
As the price is really interesting I imagine there are plenty of those models flying in Italy ? Yes, the price is veeeery interesting, but you must work a bit more than the usual ARF kit..., but not without more and more satisfaction
Before ordering I would have some questions to the community:
- It would be nice to hear something about the flight characteristics... It Fly veeery well, due to its airfoil it's not a real floater, but it's an allround acro machine with its own Fashion & Style typial of all Salto
- What I could read on his site is that the wings have wooden wing spars. is
this correct ? Ask a confirmation directly to Piero Cuccolo, mine and few more owned by firnd of mine doesn't have it.... , I've installed the spar by my self
- Are the tubes for the wing joiner already glued into the wings ? No, You must glue it by your self, the Joiner supplied are 16x3mm Armonic Stell, while the pocket are 3mm multilayer plywood, if you would use intensively use it in the Alps, think to change it with some more tough and reliability (I suggest 14mm round steel with its own brass pocket)
- How do you fix the canopy ? is there a frame or do we have to produce
one on our own ? Yes, Cuccolo usually supply also the canopy frame in fiberglass
Thanks a lot for your help and best regards from Switzerland
